ABOUT Laure Van BREMPT
Laure is a textile designer whose practice is rooted in an interest in the combination of the technical and mathematical foundations of textiles and their tactile qualities. Drawn to the narrative potential of textiles and the contexts in which they are used, her work balances slow craftsmanship with an engagement in industrial textile processes. Through experimentation and play, Laure explores material origins, techniques, and thoughtful use. Based in her studio in Kalmthout, Antwerp, she builds on a background as a print and knitwear designer at Christian Wijnants, alongside her role as teacher and coordinator of the textile department at KASK in Ghent. In collaborative projects such as PILLARS, Laure teams up with Vera Roggli.
