The fruit bowl is one of the design objects curated by Felipa Almeida .

Born in Óbidos (center Portugal), Zita learnt the verguinha technique on a professional course when she was 18. For more than three decades she has dedicated herself to craft pieces using verguinha.

This technique consists of intertwining, on a chosen shape in a plaster mould, rolls of clay obtained through modelling.

Inspired by the English Wedgwood and Eastwood school, it was introduced to ceramics in Caldas da Rainha at the end of the 19th century.
